POSTED BY Katie R., ON January 25, 2011, 2 COMMENTS

Staff Picks is an ongoing series in which Art Institute employees talk about a work of their choosing from the museum’s collection. It could be anything: a favorite work, a particularly beautiful, ugly, inspiring, or thought provoking work, or more simply, a work that never fails to stop them in their tracks on a trip through the galleries.

In this edition, Tommy R. from Media Productions talks about a painting that resounds with his interest in the great outdoors…

I would love to do a visitor pick. Or better yet, get a job at the Art Institute and do a staff pick.

AWESOME Job Tommy! Wonderful way for the museum to share its collection through the interests of others that work in the museum. Could be a great for educators to have their students pick an object of the collection that they personally like and do a 30 second video of why it is a favorite work.
